Hi!

I have a problem with special sales. I want the best GPU for my money, but I can not decide witch one. I will play mostly FPS games. Here are the choices:

2048MB Gigabyte GTX 770 OC Aktiv PCIe 3.0 x16 (344 euros or 460 us dollars)

OR

ASUS GTX 680 Direct CU II OC, 2GB GDDR5 (319 euros or 426 us dollars).

770 is a 680 just repackaged and clocked higher. Get the 770.

90% of the forums

"wait for the 9000 series"

Either way it's his only choices for now. Might as well just recommend the best of the two.

I can get any 770s except the MSI 770. But isn't the gigabyte versio the best, right after MSI, due to its cooling?

Nah. MSI has EXCELLENT COOLING! And Higher overclocks

that's only half true the 770 has new hardware that allows it to clock so high considering a 680 struggles to achieve 1700 mem clock and the 770 can go up as far as 2100 mem ATM.

Best GPU for your money without a doubt is a 7970.

The 7970 performs just as well as the 770 when both are overclocked, but it comes with more VRAM as standard so it will last longer & it can handle higher resolutions and anti-aliasing settings much more gracefully.

GPU boost 2.0 is also quite buggy causing the GPU to throttle for no apparent reason, Nvidia still hasn't released a fix.

The card is also significantly less expensive.
