So I can't get my computer to detect or recognize my network adapter in device management. It doesn't even show up. I was told after trying several things by the manufacturer, Asus, that if it wasn't a compatibility problem with Windows 10, then it was probably defective hardware. So they suggested I called Windows support.

This is what doesn't make sense to me and was curious if the response I got was accurate at all.

The representative I talked to for Windows support told me that I need to contact my ISP and have them give me an updated driver for my router so that my computer could detect the Network Adapter in device management.

Huh? Why would you need an updated driver for your router? Routers don't even use drivers - they use firmware. Did you attempt to install the drivers for your NIC?
