Hey Guys

I just want your guys opinion on Intel's latest and greatest invention. Xpoint. And if it is still worth it to get my planned build. Or wait for Xpoint

XPoint will probably take a few years to even reach production, and another five years after that to hit the mainstream/affordable point.

They say it's going to be cheaper than DRAM, and since DRAM is a about $6.5-$13 per GB, that still sounds like it could still be pretty expensive.

I'm curious as to how they would implement it as well, would we need an entirely new board with the right socket(s) or do we require both a SATA and DRAM cable, or will it use just one of them.

Umm... Let's be honest here. How much performance gain will you REALLY get if you wait for x point?

Why don't you get an M.2 ssd in the meantime?
