£2000/$3085 Desktop Build

Shenfield99

Hi All,

Thanks for any help in advance   :)

I have been a long time reader on the forum but never actually posted, this is my first time.

As you can see from the title i have £2000/$3085 for a desktop build, the problem is upgrading to 2011-v3 with ddr4 is expensive and i don't think is the best value for money.

the desktop will be used for video editing, music production and some 3d animation also i would like to do some gaming

i don't need any peripherals and my budget could be stretched a tiny bit more

if anyone has any build suggestions all help is appreciated,

thanks

if all else fails i will buy a mac  :(

I don't really have the time for fully thinking out a nice build, but DO NOT switch to a Mac ...!

You'll regret it for serious tasks

Advice for parts:

5930K (6 cores for the video editing)

X99 Mobo

16/32 Gb of DDR4 (can be cheap memory; 16 Gb should do, 32 if you wanna really do some work)

GPU: 970 (1080p) / 980Ti (1440p)

Monitor (if needed): IPS

i don't really need  a monitor but i was looking at the "Asus Rog Swift PG278Q" outside of the desktop budget

144Hz

I don't mind 1440 or 1080

thanks to everyone that responded, the builds are great!

My only doubts are should i go with LGA2011-3 and ddr4, because there are so many posts on here saying that  its a waste of money at the moment.

it won't affect performance very much at all if you go with ddr3 or ddr4. if you're budget is high, which it is, just get ddr4.
