I have a desktop that I use with 2 Samsung Displays. I use it mostly for school work and light gaming currently, but I was to upgrade it to be a gaming machine.

I am wondering what parts would be the most effective to make this machine better at gaming (budget of $400-500)

Current Specs:

Rosewill Micro-ATX Case with 400W Power Supply

Asus P8B75-M LGA1155 Motherboard

Intel Pentium Dual Core G2030 (Stock Cooler)

Nvidia NVS310

8GB (4GB x 2) Kingston 1333MHz DDR3

SanDisk SSD Plus 120 GB SSD

1 TB WD Blue

External:

3 TB Seagate USB 3.0 Drive

USB Wifi Adapter

Corsair Raptor K30

Corsair M65

you're not gonna be doing that much crazy gaming on a Pentium (CS:GO, League, Dota, would all be fine)

So I would say get a new PSU at least 500W, get a new processor, and the best GPU you can afford.  Remember not to waste too much of your budget on the processor because the GPU is where the majority of the money should go.
