Hello guys, I'm from Philippines so the pricing will be different.

I'm planning a budget build and I'd like to get some feedback if this is good enough for my needs:

  1. Light Gaming (CS:GO, TF2, L4D2, Dota 2, LoL, Indie Games in steam, etc.) on 1080p
  2. Programming (Main)
  3. At least, it'll be able to run 3 VMs smoothly (Main)
  4. Won't overclock

Parts will be bought from: http://pcx.com.ph/

If there are other better alternatives or combinations for the parts I've chosen from the site, please do tell me :)

Other info that might help:

  • I have a Crucial BX100 250GB SSD here on hand, so no need to suggest SSDs.
  • Doesn't necessarily have to be mATX though I'd like to save some desk space

Budget of 30,000php

  • CPU: Intel Core i5-4570 3.2GHz Quad-Core Processor

I feel like you should get a slightly cheaper processor if you want to pair it with that video card.  An i5 is suited for 300-500 dollar cards vs a 200.  That video card would run just as nice with an i3 than an i5, but if you are going for an i5 nonetheless, you might as well get the 4690 as its only like 10-20 dollars more depending where you look.  You could also consider just buying like a GTX 970 or an R9 290x or something.

That card will definitely run all of the games you suggested at 100+ fps though.

Gaming is not my priority so I'd like to invest on the CPU side.

4690 costs P10,600

4570 costs P8,800

Difference of P1800 ($38.46 based on today's exchange rate)

like what?

Better performance in-game with DX11 and 12. The 380 only has better raw compute performance. It would be more useful to him if he was building a rendering rig for this price.

Ok well then I still would look into the 4690k.  Skylake is already out and you don't wanna be too far behind.
