EFI or Legacy Install?

tezza192

I have 2 PCs whic have UEFI bios capabilities,

On intalling the windows 8 operating system I know you can install under legacy or EFI bios boot,

Which do you guys do, any benefits or drawbacks to installing under EFI or is it best to stick with legacy ?

Any advice would be appreciated.

Go with EFI and enable CSM for any legacy device support. If you have all EFI supported hardware you can disable CSM (Compatibility Support Module). I like EFI because of it's faster boot times as EFI checks all the devices at once during post compared to Legacy BIOS which checks each device one by one, which increases boot times. Also EFI is going to be a future so its a good thing.

The only way to deal with an unfree world is to become so absolutely free that your very existence is an act of rebellion.
