Output 19V at 3.2A

 

Will I be able to workout the killowatt hours from this information?

The output is 19v x 3.2a which means a total of 60.8 watts.

only if you're measuring how long you're using it at full draw. What you have there is roughly 60 watts.

 

You can get a watt-hour meter that plugs into the wall and measures how much power you draw, and how many kWh you use from that socket.

No, as the laptop doesn't use the max power that the adapter makes at all times.

Thought so, I wonder if there is much wastage of electricity (Voltage drops ect) in the transformers/Capacitors etc.

watts=amps x volts 

 

Then

E(in watthours)=P(In watts) x t(time duration)

 

However no system is perfect so there will be losses at some point during the process, so the actual number is lower than the one calculated.

Laptops don't really add up too much to a power bill. I'd be surprised if it raises your power bill by 40 quin per year when used 24/7

Yeah its barely anything

I moved out for the first time to go to uni and I have a £10 Electricity limit and I have an Electric Shower, cooker and heaters. So while I'm calculating that, I thought I might as well calculate everything I'm using

1000 Wh= 1kWh
