I had a question regarding this microphone. My mic for a while on my webcam has been dieing I believe. It would do stupid things like make me sound like I was doing a flash back to the Alvin and the Chipmunks show. So I decided to look at the Blue Microphone's on Newegg. There was the snow ball that is currently on sale for 69.99 I think it was but with tax and everything it was somewhere around 75 dollars. And then I went and saw that there was a huge discount on the Yeti mic not the normally 200 dollar one but the non pro one at 149.99 there is a promo going on with it that takes off 70 dollars I thought WOW that is a great deal right so I went ahead and purchased the microphone. I just wanted to know what people think of the microphone. I'm not planning on doing anything crazy in the near future twitch or broadcast wise but I wanted a good microphone because its really frustrated getting these gamer headsets and then having the microphone being absolute bantha fodder... I forgot to mention I mainly use it for gaming however I do have a company that I contract through that sometimes I need to be able to go in a ADOBE Connect session to talk to someone and to have a non functioning microphone is a nono.

Also get a Modmic instead

Enjoy those tacos now, for in 1000 years they will be illegal... eh Ha Ha Ha! I think we all know why.

I'm sure whatever you bought is overkill for your usage, but since you already bought it you might as well keep it if you like it once you set it up.  ^_^

The mod mic wouldn't go well with my astro a40's and I'm not really after something reaching around my face to talk into. However, I hadn't thought of that before in the future I may consider it.

I'm normally the kind of person who doesn't always get what is the cheapest and most value oriented thing so I can totally see where you are coming from ha :P I just thought perhaps someone would have an opinion its not a very uncommon thing for someone to have although the snowball is a bit more common in the gaming arena.

Mics just aren't that big a deal for us commoners - pretty much everything will pick up voice good enough for Skype, and few of us are trying to record anything other than YouTube videos.

A yeti does have serious swag and longevity points, however.  :D
