$3000 Gaming PC

iaOreo

Need your opinion on what parts I need for it.

I'm looking to game, then record and then do a voice over it.  I may get into streaming and what not, but this will be for editing and gaming.

I already have a Corsair 750D that I plan on using for this build so keep that out of the parts list please. The theme of the build needs to be all black or mostly black with white hints. Thanks! Love to hear your opinion for this epic PC.

SIDENOTE: CANNOT GO OVER $3000 try and keep it around $2000-$2500. The threshold is there just in case I NEED something that would require me going over 3K.

Specs - I7 4790K and two GTX 770s. Soon to be upgrading!

Fully themed, monster machine.

I went brand whore on this one. MSI and Corsair all over the place.

Black/White theme.

Case fans to pump up the Black/white

Take special note of the type of MSI 980 Ti I picked, as they are black/white.

14-127-902-08.jpg

PSU... I found a black/white one, but you could settle for something else.

I went a bit over the top on a few parts, making the overall build more expensive, but you had the budget, so I used it.

Fury Xs scale better than 980TIs.

Sorry I'd like to argue this...

Thank you! And funny thing is I have 20+ corsair fans for my other builds so I wont be needing those! But this I will truly consider.

ah i see. I went ahead and looked at the video one more time, and the only game that the furys beat the 980 ti in is Bioshock. :)

Everything else was really close though, so i mean... not a big argument on my part i guess.

Okay thanks! Sad to see no one considered AMD GPU''s but thats okay :)

Actually I'm one of the few people who do usually but when it comes to this budget Intel is the best way to go. Something like the 8350 is a great option if you were looking at a $1000 budget but unfortunately the AMD options just can't compete with Haswell-E so at your budget Haswell-E is just the best option.

Oh oops haha I thought I saw CPU. Thank you for correcting me.

Okay thanks! Sad to see no one considered AMD GPU''s but thats okay :)

Well in that case if you want to go with a AMD card then the Fury is a good GPU but it does fall behind at 1080p and 1440p however it is $100 cheaper. I personally didn't think the fury X is worth the money but the fury is not bad at all so you could go with that.

Oh okay thank you! I'm going to hold off on buying a GPU. 4K gaming isn't realistic right now. I just watched some 4k benchmarks and the games i play dont get 60 smoothly at 4K. I want around 80PFS.

Well actually if you wanted to crossfire two fury's this would give you about that 80 fps in most games but the limiter is the cables themselves only being able to deliver 4k at 60hz however AMD is supposed to be coming out with something like a duel link display-port adapter to address this but I wouldn't base your purchase on that. If I were you I would focus on making the rest of the system as powerful as possible (within reason) and just buy something like a 390 or 390x to play at 1080p for now because next years card's, monitor's, and cable's are going to be far better suited for 4k and in my opinion from what I've seen I think some of next years flagship card's may be able to run in the 70-80+ FPS range in 4k on a single card so I'm hoping and waiting for that personally.

I don't want a Fury X. I think I am going to buy 1 980TI and wait for pascal...anyone have any info on pascal?
