I have a Corsaire force LS series 60GB SSD for boot and a 1TB seagate barracuda for mass storage. The SSD is full and I don't know why, My $Windows.~WS is 21.0GB and my windows folder is 17GB. Should they be as large as that. If not how do i reduce it?

Use WinDirStat.

My C partition keeps filling really easily. It was originally 50GB, and I kept expanding it by 5GB once I reached a point where I couldn't really get more than a few 100MBs free. Now it's 70GB big D:

i5 4670k @ 4.2GHz (Coolermaster Hyper 212 Evo); ASrock Z87 EXTREME4; 8GB Kingston HyperX Beast DDR3 RAM @ 2133MHz; Asus DirectCU GTX 560; Super Flower Golden King 550 Platinum PSU;1TB Seagate Barracuda;Corsair 200r case.

windows folder seems a little big.  make sure you have hibernation disabled as well, as having it enabled reserves a shit ton of space

EDIT: also check out ccleaner to help clean up some files.WinDirStat is awesome to see what exactly is taking up space. but i would invest in a larger capacity SSD since they are getting really cheap now

Ought to look for another SSD with at least 120gb. Unless you want to get the same issue in the future.

60GB is not enough for windows.

you should have gotten a 120GB at least.

It is enough for Windows.

I use a 60GB one myself which works absolutly fine and I still have 17.7GB free on it, even tho there are a few programs installed on it.

As long as you take care of your drive it works.

Disable Hibernation, (can still use sleep mode fine)

Open CMD window with Admin Rights

type

powercfg -h off

If you had 8GB of Ram, you just cleared 8GB of drive space.

Maximums - Asus Z97-K /w i5 4690 Bclk @106.9Mhz * x39 = 4.17Ghz, 8GB of 2600Mhz DDR3,.. Gigabyte GTX970 G1-Gaming @ 1550Mhz

We'll you also have to look at the current prices. SSDs are dirt cheap now imo.

Yup, that's true. But why waste a perfectly fine drive.

And a 60GB drive is usually even cheaper. Of course not by GB/cent tho.

Thanks for that tipp.

I just got 8 GB of storage back, which is weird, cause I have 16GB of RAM O.o

Well, I can't contest that they aren't cheap now. However, I still don't really see the Average Joe going out and picking one up to plug into their computer for a while yet.

They're certainly cheaper than ever, otherwise I wouldn't have two of them; one for my desktop (same as yours, interestingly), and one for my laptop (a Crucial MSATA one). But the Average Joe's gonna probably be looking at how big the drive is more than how fast it is. A hard drive is likely to do them fine, though really, for basic functionality, you don't need a massive drive anyway.

If you ever go for the new drive route, you can use that 64gb for the most games you use.
