Hi, I am a beginner looking to build a PC for non-3D editing and gaming. You may have seen my previous post, and I have since made changes.

Build:

Case - Fractal Design Define R4

CPU - Intel i5 4690k

GPU - MSI R9 390 8GB

RAM - Crucial Ballistix Sport 2x8GB 1600MHz

MoBo - ASUS ATX 2600 LGA1150 Z97

PSU - EVGA superNOVA 650 G2 80+ Gold

CPU Cooler - Corsair h100i

SSD - Samsung 850 EVO 250GB

HDD - WD Blue 1TB 7200RPM

Using stock case fans, but might replace at some point.

I am planning on overclocking the GPU a little bit and the CPU a fair amount. Any tips would be great!

Thanks,

Shane

At this price you might as well go for z170 as it's newer and it's almost the same price

That would require DDR4, and a 6600K CPU. Is it worth it?

For CPU Cooler I have the Corsair h100i, which is great for OCing.

Here the prices are almost the same so yes, definitely, but if the prices where you live are higher is not really too much of an upgrade

depends on who you ask. I would say not worth it though.

It's almost double the price for DDR4 RAM, but CPU is very similar.

see above first.

for example here 4690k is 263 eu and the 6600k is 279 so, as you can see is better.8 gb of ddr3 around 45 eu and ddr4 around 60-65, again not much of a difference for something better. The prices for mb are out of the question since they are really good(110 eu for the cheapest z170 mb and 130 for a decent one)
