Well, no matter what driver version I install, if i'm in safe mode or not it fails every single time. Everything to do with Nvidia has been uninstalled and tried installing through windows update and device manager to no avail. Any suggestions before I just install Windows 7?

I'm going to take a guess and say you did a upgrade install didn't you?
