Why AMD?

Because I'll be overclocking and don't want to have to spend more money to be able to overclock.

But a locked i5 for around the same price performs better than an overclocked 8350 in games.

I'll probably upgrade later on, but I'll only be playing at 1080p.

All the more reason to use intel. IPC performance is more important at 1080p.

get an i5 4460 and any h97 motherboard and it will perform better in every game than an 8350. Also the 8350 will make your room catch fire from heat production (not literally but i used to have one and pretty damn close)

Laptop: Thinkpad W520 i7 2720QM 24GB RAM 1920x1080 2x SSDs Main Rig: 4790k 12GB Hyperx Beast Zotac 980ti AMP! Fractal Define S (window) RM850 Noctua NH-D15 EVGA Z97 FTW with 3 1080P 144hz monitors from Asus Secondary: i5 6600K, R9 390 STRIX, 16GB DDR4, Acer Predator 144Hz 1440P

I'm used to playing games at 15fps. I think that it will be fine. xD

i5 is the difference between 70 and 120 in some games. Let alone 3 years from now.

I shut the heating vent last winter in my comptuer room the whole winter. Even on days it was -20C my room was at 25C easily. It was too hot. Even in winter.

Newegg has a deal on Windows 10. You can get it for around $100 bucks after shipping.

You don't need this cooler for a xeon that doesn't allow overclocking ^^ Just get a cheap one as I picked just to not have to deal with the loud, stock one

As for the motherboard, you can choose any that you find best in terms of features/looks.
