Dual boot with Bitlocker

Andrew_C

Has anyone got any experience of dual booting with bitlocker? I just got a second hand Lenovo X230, i5-3320, 8GB, 250GB SSD.

I fancy having both Windows 8.1 and BackBox on the disk but I wan't everything encrypted. Anyone know the order of installation?

Im pretty sure bitlocker only encrypts the windows partition and not the entire drive.

Last time I ran bitlocker, it gave you the option to encrypt either the boot partition or the entire drive.

The method I have in mind at the moment is to install BackBox, creating a partition outside of the MBR for GRUB & leaving some space free. Install Windows to the free space and get the Windows Boot manager to launch BackBox. Then Bitlocker the disk....?

For today, I've just installed BackBox direct to the laptop, encrypted using LUKS encryption.

Still, anyone know better please let me know!?
