livestream timer

I had this idea a few minutes ago where linus could have a timer on the livestream. 

It would automatically start a few hours prior and just shows a countdown in hours and minutes to when linus and slick will begin.

 

This could also serve as a way to throw in cool eastereggs or have extra advertisement for products or snips of upcoming videos the group is working on as well as some random music of the week.

 

A basic video editor or even someone that knows their way around powerpoint could easily make something like this.

I already suggested a countdown box/ live messages box in the forum suggestions thread, not sure if they will implement it or not. Let's hope they add something like this.

The only reason they don't start exactly at 4:30 PST every week is because they aren't sure when they'll be able to start, any technical difficulties and the timer would be useless.

True but when you look at the Twitch chat and see how many people ask, it wouldn't hurt in any way. Plus the thing with advertising, it opens some new opportunities for sponsors

I believe for that to happen, Linus would have to be pushing a live stream.

And doesn't he do enough for us already?  A countdown clock, sure might stop the "When does it start" nonsense - but there's enough good nature people in chat to give an answer.
