Dead phone?(lg g4)

After shutting the phone off (i had it for about 2 weeks)i could not turn it on , it seems dead.I have ordered a new battery so ill see soon if that was the problem , but if it is not is there anything i should do before returning it?

Try charging it. If not try and get into recovery.
