help building a new pc

Go to solution Solved by HumbleMobo,

hey guys i'm kinda new to the whole forum thing from linus but i've been a subscriber for a long time and i have finally decided that after learning more and more about pcs and fixxing them i decided its time to build my own mid-high range pc build.... with a gtx 970 and an i7 4790k how could i go wrong? the motherboard.... i want my entire pc to be built around a blue theme i alrdy picked up a case (the corsair 500r with some blue LED fans) and a set of ram 4x4 configuration clocked at 1866 mghz  from gskill and most of my other parts picked out i only had 1 thing left to do and that is pick out my motherboard... this is a real problem for me at the moment i did find a really nice looking mobo from asrock the extreme 6 lga 1150 z97 chipset i thought this was an easy pickup then i read some reviews on it.... alot of complaints about the usb ports and the device software not working with it... i need some feedback on if this board actually has problems with all that stuff and if it does then i need some suggestions on a board .... my price range is about 180$ and i only have 2 requirements.... i need it to be blue and i need it to be a z97 chipset.... other then that the range is open if yall can help that would be grand thankyou

Actually of the ones I showed you , this is the best MOBO it is for 189.99$ but this one is awesome!

This motherboard Is incredibly friggin tough and it is probably best in class in terms of military grade components in MSI's lineup.  Plus it's SLI ready so you'll be good to go with a couple 970's up in there!

the problem i think i have with gaming monitors is the colors.... yes they look great but with the gaming monitors they do sacrifice a little bit on the visual for things like faster response times and refresh rate bla bla bla.... i'm never goign to be that good at games lmfao so until i see a ben-q gaming monitor that looks as good as an LED monitor from someone like asus then i'll probably avoid them ig i just prefer the visuals as the gaming expierience vs the actual performance? if that makes sense... unless theres a monitor that ben-q makes that i dont know abotu (which is entirely possible)

Also 390>970, and  the 4790k supports dual channel, it is better to have 2*8 gb modules than 4x4

Actually Ben-Q monitors are very good now, they also have a new mode where when your playing like an FPS which usually have dark maps it will make the map brighter somehow and you will be able to see into shadows where enemies may be!  In my opinion it's a game changer!
