RIP Gpu Fans

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

I have a suspicion its probly dust that got up in there, i know i can oil it up and POSSIBLY fix it, but if that doesnt work i figure i may as well ask evga if they can just send me new fans. So i dont have to go through all the trouble if its not needed.

I'd call up EVGA to see what they say first they are fairly good with stuff like this so they might be able to just send you some replacements to install which would be the best.

Sadly had to call in 2 replacement fans for my gpu, which despite every screw on the card and in my system being tight is making horrid clicking, grinding, and slight buzz sounds. My best guess is a bearing. Like to know though if anyones had any experience with getting replacement cooling parts from EVGA for your gpu? Id really rather not send the entire card in for RMA again (this is my second card from them) in only just under 3 years. I did ask if they would just send two fans and then id ship off my dead ones, but i highly doubt it, probly have to pay 60 freaking dollars in shipping fees again, and be without a card for a month -_-

Did some googling and apparently the cooler used on there 760 SC has been quite the pain in the butt to a lot of people. Id have to agree, if it wasnt for there warranty id probly put them on my shit list.

If you can remove the fans and they are not 100% sealed you can lubricate the bearings if they are making excessive noise, not the most elegant solution but it will work.

My ticket is awaiting reply. Its not a huge deal i just started working again, but not enough hours to afford a new card so id like this one to atleast last another year. I dont like upgrading gpus every year, i try to hit 4 to 5 years per.

sadly they want the entire card sent in :c I told them mines painted and when on the phone before doing so they said they would send a card to swap coolers and fans with in case of an rma. So i made support aware of my painted gpu and lets hope they send me a new card to swap my cooler and fans onto. maybe a 960? xD yeh right.
