What are the difference in all the Arma II DLC(?). Once my build is finished I want to play this and other games for sure.  I just want to know if those are just add-ons that give you extra weapons, gamemodes or are just extra maps to play on.

If you could link a video to explain all these other Arma II add-on packs that would be great.

You may be more interested in Arma 3, it's a large improvement over Arma 2 and wasteland is very fun (especially the Sa-Matra servers right now).

Buying the expansions just for the weapons is a bit of a waste in my opinion since there are mods available to get more for free.

What are the different gamemodes in Arma II or III?

DLC in ARMA does not simply 'add weapons'

It adds several missions, new factions, vehicles and all that

The only add-on that adds a new map is Operation Arrowhead, this is also the biggest expansion

OA adds 3 maps,  Takistan, Zargabad and a infinite desert

Combined operations is the base game and Operation Arrowhead combined, OA graphics tend to be a tad bit better

Reinforcements is a combination of the Private Military Company and the British Armed Forced, these two DLC both add a new storyline and campaign to the game.

Also new vehicles and weapons

If you would ask 'are these worth it?'

the correct answer would be: Certainly.

Every DLC Bohemia Interactive has put up can easliy grant you several hours of gameplay.

People are used to DayZ too much, and they seem to forget there is a whole military simulator with immersive mission behind it.

I bet 80% of all the current players have never been outside of DayZ

I must admit it is a cool gamemode. but the game is certainly worth the money on it's own.

Yeah, I agree completely. DayZ is just a massive selling point for the DLC is all ;)

notwhatimeant

I was saying, I just find it a shame that people buy ARMA just for DayZ, and never experience the actual game.

The DLC, are well worth it if you plan on playing the actual game and not sticking to the wasteland mod, or dayz.

As Mozoa said, they add a lot more than just weapons.

I'd recommend picking up the Arma X Anniversary edition. If you buy it directly from Bohemia interactive you get some free physical maps.

https://store.bistudio.com/armax-aniversary-edition-steam-version

That pack contains for Arma 1 and 2 in nearly a complete set.

However that does not include the most recent Arma 2 DLC Army of Czech Republic which adds two more albeit small maps, plus the usual additional short campaign, scenario missions, faction etc.

Once you've done that, purchase Arma 3 (before September 12, as that's the full release date which will cause the price to increase)

Look into Take On Helicopters and it's DLC as well.

Now that you have the full arma set which uses the Real Virtuality engine, you can make some awesome stuff happen. Such as cross compatibility. Combining all the above titles into Arma 3's engine.

With Take On Helicopters you also get the Seattle map.

You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means.
Users cannot, and will not securely manage key material. Most users can't and the ones that can, wont.

Ask me about Bitcoin, Litecoin, Crypto-Currencies, and/or Mining them.

For the love of god...... don't listen to the DayZ and Wasteland crowd about anything Arma related.

They are johnny come lately bandwagon jumpers who just run around like chickens shooting anything that moves.

Oh and Wasteland is just Team Deathmatch pretending it's something more.....it's not.

This is an old video and tons more stuff has been added via official DLC, Patches and community addons.
