Nvidia Win 10 Drivers

Ive heard people say the drivers for nvidia cards lately have been pretty bad and they claim its mostly the windows 10 ready ones. Where are they getting this idea from? Is there any hardcore proof or testing that the recent drivers since win 10 came out have been bad? in my experience windows 10 has slightly smoothed out some games that used to be a bit rough. and others run pretty much normally.

I think you may be refering to dx12 issues? if so yes lots of bencharmks exist showing the fuck ups.

ive heard currently amd beats nvidia in dx 12 tests, but i mean overall drivers. seen people saying the drivers since 10 released have been shoddy.

Drivers have been perfectly fine for me, but I have a 970 and it's a newer card, no idea about older cards, but my 660ti didn't have any issues when I tried windows 10 technical preview. Metal Gear Solid V runs perfectly for me 1.5x DSR and 60FPS stable, I can play 4k DSR but I get around 40FPS which isn't playable for me anyway.

I think something that may cause some problems and confusion is that if you take the upgrade to Windows 10 (rather than wiping the system for a clean install), your existing Windows 7/8.1 drivers will be broken at first and need to be uninstalled.

 

Residual files and registry entries can sometimes be a problem for graphics drivers, and that probably becomes more likely when you're also doing a full OS upgrade that includes a new DirectX/WDDM version. In some cases it may take a proper Safe Mode uninstall of the old drivers and clean install of the Windows 10 drivers to be sure they will install correctly. That's what I did to be safe, and it worked perfectly for me.
