So. I was lacking in some detail in my last build.

The build is based off of an Orange and Black scheme. That color scheme will stay, and it is a must.

I prefer Nvidia GPU's over AMD if at all possible. I just prefer the software on the Nvidia side.

I will probably stick with Skylake just so I can go ahead and get into the "next-gen" with DDR4 ect.

Liquid cooler is for the matchy matchy, it will have the orange LED's in the back.

If you dont think 16gb of ram is needed totally let me know.

I already have Storage, I have a 3TB Seagate drive and some intel SSD.

Everything is fine. The PSU is perfect.

I'd still get a R9 380 because.. Well more performance but if you want a 960 get one,

Well.

More on the GPU question.

Would you say look for a 780ti or 780 in general?

I imagine I could find a used one out there for under $300

I would not recommend getting the 960, look for at least a GTX 970. I would recommend R9 390 but as you said, you want Nvidia.
PSU is great.

No. Unless you find one really cheap like you said under $300. Stick to newer gen cards.

Coming from someone who bought a 750Ti over a 950 even though the difference was $15 xD

780Ti is good but 3GB could hold you a bit back in AAA and it's better to buy newest gen cards anyways a 780Ti would be between a 960 and 970 like the 290

well, theres more to a 750Ti than performance, like it being the best card without needing a power connector.

I'd probably get a 4GB R9 380 over a GTX 960.

if you *really* insist on colliding with OP's preferences, please come with striking examples about why its SO much better he should forget his preferences.

its literally a minute of work to toss in a link to a comparison between the two.

I don't see why this post is targeted square at me, because a few other users have also recommended AMD cards without a link.

it was mostly targeted directly at you, because you didnt even mention 'its faster'

that said, you did a mindblowingly good job at linking benchmarks, which i'm now gonna use for the purpose of this thread.

--

if we *ignore* the 960 crying in a corner at 4K, we get an interesting point here:

the 380 is faster, which i wont ignore. BUT it isnt by much, and its not really worth it going against your brand preferences for a very low performance benefit.

that said, if OP wants to get into 4K, he can forget that 960 all together :P

Well I'm sorry I woke up like 20 minutes ago and still haven't had breakfast for some reason.

Darkblade2117 only mentioned "More performance", no links, no benchmarks.

Oh yeah, 4k was never the plan.

This build is already taking a decent chunk out of my pocket.

I found a 970 FTW with a back plate on Craigslist for $300. Waiting for a response.

If you're only playing at 1080p, the 970 will do fine.
