Are WD Blues safe for storage?

Go to solution Solved by Kuzma,

Yes you should be fine ^_^

Title says it all. I've recently run out of room on my 500GB WD Black after about a year of installing games and have purchased a 1TB Blue since it was $68 dollars for 1TB in comparison to $79 for 500GB on the Black. But the 2 year warranty really bugs me as I hope to leave my games in the better performing Black whilst putting all important documents and photos in the Blue. The 3 year difference in warranty makes it hard to feel confident as I am planning to put important data in it.

Thanks in advance!

They are fine unless you drop or attempt to destroy them :)

WD Blues are fine but like any hard drive you really should backup all your work.

So I spelt something wrong in my post... I don't care I don't read through what I write and I type very quickly.

Intel 3770k stock, MSI Z77A-GD65, MSI GTX 760, Corsair Vengence DDR3 1600Mhz 16Gb, Corsair RM 550W, Samsung 830 256Gb, some random hdds.

Cool! Thanks everyone. Backing up my work would be easy if I wasn't so lazy lol :P

But seeing as it's all positive then I can ignore the warranty then hehe.

Out of curiosity I did a little test on its performance... that sequential read!

I never do it either but I like to send people in the right direction even if I am not going that way.
