Hello LinusTechTips.

I had a overclocked i7-4770K from 3.5GHz to 4.0GHz, but I didn't know that much that everything resets in BIOS when I got my new RAM.

So I know have my 3.5GHz again and I know nothing about overclocking and therefore I want your help :)

My setup:

Processor: i7-4770K

Motherboard: MSI Z87-G43 GAMING Killer NIC Military Class III

RAM: 16GB Corsair Vengeance Pro 2400MHz

Graphic Card: Asus GTX 780

That is basically my system.

Is there any chance for that you can help me to get back my 4.0GHz :D? And maybe I can learn something more about pc and overclocking!

The CPU overclocking is some how tied to the clockspeeds of your ram so it detects new ram and it resets the cpu. Just try to dial back the settings for your 4.0GHz oc.

I didn't know that is possible. Have tried to find it in the BIOS but cant find it. I think is will have to be in the BIOS because of the OC in there.
