gpu max resolution

Go to solution Solved by QueenDemetria,

Hi I have been thinking of buying a 4k monitor for quite some time but my graphics card non reference gigabyte hd 7950 3gb supports up to 2560x1600 but some other hd 7950s support 4096x2160 why?

Since other hd 7950s can do 4k can mine do aswell? Note that i am not concerned about playing AAA games on it since I have a 1080p benq 1ms i just want it for content creation  some movie watching, and light games. The monitor Im currently looking at costs 480 euros so should I get it or get a gtx 970 first?

Some can and cant due to the HDMI revision, unless if you are using Display Port in which case it should work regardless(maybe not at 60hz though).
