No. I highly recommend staying away from it.

It teaches you to follow along to what is on screen. It won't ever teach to to learn how to change the intonation of a guitar, or how to play lead solos by ear or make up your own solos that sounds good. There are things that a monitor and speakers can't teach you. Guitar is an intimate thing. You have to feel the guitar make a connection with it.

Well if you're going to learn you're probably better off starting off by yourself watching how to videos or something, and when you're a bit more experienced get Rocksmith, since I find it's more something just to learn songs and then be able to play them. I feel it doesn't really teach guitar. I also feel they handled the bass section of the game way better, too.

i now have a problem here... @ has been a BIG help in the past and seems to know his stuff ... i may try out the program to start, or maybe later on? I dunno maybe never. I should probably stop typing and focus on getting the guitar in the first place Amazon.com: Yamaha Pacifica Series PAC112V Electric Guitar; Black: Musical Instruments

I know a bit of what I am talking about after many years of playing, many hours of studio time and and album. ;)

would anyone recommend rocksmith 2014 to learn guitar?

It's not good to learn guitar, butbit can certainly be used as a fun tool to help you improve certain areas of your playing, such as speed and string switching, but mostly to learn the songs that are on it. I've found that I was able to build upon what I already knew and improve my playing by playing along with the game. But as a straight up learning tool, that's a no.
