Best Networking Solution to Increase Coverage

We are getting an extension added to the house and I will be relocating my PC to the new top floor. This means that our WIFI (Sky Fibre) will not reach were I am. The first solution I thought of was WIFI repeaters however I have found these to be inefficient and slow the connection down.

My next idea was Homeplugs however I recently learned the room upstairs would be on a different Mains loop meaning Homeplugs from the downstairs router to my PC wouldn't work.

This leaves me with two options, Switching providers to BT (Sky don't allow for third party routers) and buying a better router E.G. the Asus RT-N66U (amazon link: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-RT-N66U-Wireless-streaming-Warranty/dp/B007W16SMO/ref=sr_1_1?s=computers&ie=UTF8&qid=1440864607&sr=1-1&keywords=routers)

Or running a Long 20/30m Cat6 Cable through the wall from my router to my pc, then using my pc to create a hotspot for the Upstairs area.

Could someone please tell me the better solution of the two or a different solution better than both of them.

Thanks

Just run a cable... and plug in or have a hotspot.

Personally I'd run a cable and get a switch to split into a hotspot and a cabled port for a desktop (if you have one)

but Cable is pure win.

I cabled the house even though its all in range of 1300Mbps wifi.

Yea i think thats what i will do, but is there a way to run an ethernet cable to a second router upstairs giving the room upstairs wifi?

Just use a network hub and connect it to an access point as I said :). or build your own access point :P.
