mouse problem

hey it will sound kinda noobish but i cant get my mouse to work. sometimes when i connect it it doesnt work at all but sometimes it works fine. its a problem of software drivers not a hardware. now its even more weird. when i connect it it works for 2 seconds and mouse doesnt move anymore although the sensor led is on. please help me solve this stupid issue.
