Headphones/software for CS GO

TheCroaker
Go to solution Solved by Jacona,

Thank you for the explanation, now are those the like, you should definitely get these ones, or are there better ones for like 40 bucks more or something like that? I don't mind paying more for a better product, but if that is a great pair then awesome

Those Takstars are perfectly fine, though they ship from China and who knows how long that'll take.

There's Audio Technica's Air line, the cheapest is the 500X, if you want to spend more just go for the higher number.

The Sennheiser 518/558 is a pretty popular default recommendation for gaming.

I really want a nice pair of headphones specifically for Surround sound while playing, so i can tell better where people are based on noise

Currently I own ATH M50s, which I am in love with, so I mean if there is audio software that will make those do just as good as one of these surround sound headphones (which I think are mostly through software anyway) I would really like a link to the best choice in software for it, but I am willing to pay if it really is worth it

Surround sound is useless, you'd rather get a good stereo headset in stead. Virtual surround sound is even worse, i don't really like it.

If you want some software you can look at Razer Surround Sound for 7.1 virtual surround.

Just get a good pair of open cans.

Two ears, two drivers, that's all you need.

These are good but they take a while to ship.

Why are these better then my Audio Technica M50s (I know very little about this stuff which is why I am asking stupid questions)

Why are these better then my Audio Technica M50s (I know very little about this stuff which is why I am asking stupid questions)

They are "better" than the M50s depending on what you want to use them for.

The M50s are a pretty "forward/close" sounding pair of headphones, generally good for music but not optimal for gaming where spacial awareness is important.

That's where a decent pair of open headphones come into play, you simply get a better sense of where sounds is coming from.

Thanks a ton think I am gonna go with the 500x or the 900x then, always had good luck with Audio technica, and I would prefer not to wait for china shipping

Really do appreciate it
