Help with choosing laptop!

Hey! 

 

A friend of mine is looking for a new laptop and he asked me to help him. 

I would like to ask you all for some advice before listing up a few laptops. Are there specific brands or models you can recommend? Anything that I should look out for? 

I will list the key specs down here to clarify: 

 

The laptop will mainly be used for schoolwork, but he would also like to use photoshop and play some games in his free time. For example Call Of Duty. 

CPU: (I was thinking about an i5), ... 

GPU: ...

RAM: 8GB

Storage: SSD

Screen size: 15-17 inch

Keyboard layout: AZERTY 

Budget: ~ €1400

because that is what  some  people use in europe

I traveled all around Europe, I never saw an Azerty layout.

Why an AZERTY layout?

 

It's very common here in Belgium :)!

Why an AZERTY layout?

I saw many people use that layout in France, so Im guessing its is prevalent in other parts of Europe as well.

I lived in Belgium for a couple of years and still never saw an AZERTY layout, never been to France.
