R9 380 Question

RazorDragon

I'm just wondering for 1080p gaming will a R9 380 be sufficient, because I may also get a R9 390 so sice the 380 is cheaper will it be able to handle stuff like GTA V in decent settings?

Yeah it will be enough. On High settings perhaps. However you could get a R9 390, which is even slightly better than the GTX 970, and play on ultra and have it longer. R9 390 imo.

You can get a 280x for cheaper and would perform better.

With my 7950 I played GTA V at Very high settings no problems (60FPS with dips to 45).

Well yeah, the R9 390 will just last for longer, it's a card worth getting for the money.

You will probably be fine with a 380 now, but I agree with everyone that a 390 will last longer. My friend has a 380 that can run GTA V on the highest settings at 900p and probably 1080p (if he had a 1080p monitor).

I've had my eye on a 290X on ebay going for about $250. If you're not fussy about warranties or whatever, I'd say get one of those.
