Best Dashcam solution?

I was thinking about using a GoPro+mount.

Are there any other solutions you might want to recommend? I was checking this out, looks pretty decent.

Need thoughts and opinions on dashcams.

As said before, you can use a GoPro for other appilcations. A GoPro will also produce higher quality video, wider angles with certain lenses, etc. Also, if you don't have much storage space for your GoPro to use, you can set lower resolutions to record more footage.

what do you intend to do with the dashcam? gopro if you are capturing racing but for a daily user or to have to capture those lol moments on the road like those russian dashcam vids then buy a mediocre $50-$100 dedicated dashcam from ebay or something. the more expensive ones only add weird functions like gps speed and enhanced night capabilities.

a gopro would be tedious to set up every day and bait for your car to get broken into if you left it in

why not just get a bog standard 1080p wide angle camera..its a freaking dash cam not a movie camera he wants.......spend like $100-200 max and get something with a lot of battery life or can be charged form your ciggarette lighter.....lots of spce to record to and can produce clear images preferably at 1080p, 720p minimum.....the one you suggested in your post looks fine...

This is a viable option, but for what it's worth, a GoPro can be charged through a cigarette charger. You can also find an older GoPro (Hero 1/2 generation) for around $200.

20% is absurd. If our sales tax was 20%, chaos would ensue.

Just a dashcam to record traffic and "lol" moments. I'd appreciate it if you guys would attach links. I dont thin a GoPro would have enough battery. Wouldnt I have to charge everytime I get in my car? Thanks for all the contributions to this post btw.
