Will a Range extender keep my SSID hidden?

 

Will it increase my wifi speed cause I have 100/100 internet but only getting 20ish over wifi

 

My router is a Asus RT-N56U

But that's on the 2.4ghz network on 5ghz its getting 40ish but that's still not 100

Well i don't know i can get 50-60 on 2.4ghz on my timecapsule.

Hiding your SSID does NOT stop your device from broadcasting beacons. All it does it set a flag in the beacon that politely asks the receiving device to not display it in the list of available SSID's in the area. Sure it can be a good method to keep uninformed users from finding your network but don't think this makes your network "invisible" or anything like that.

 

Range extenders will decrease bandwidth and induce increased delay.
