Are these temps normal?

Go to solution Solved by W-L,

should I render?

While the temps are high if they aren't constantly >85C they are still good but as said I would reseat the cooler to get better temps.

If the ambient temp is 30*C+, then yes.

Ambient temps are like 68 f

At 4.4GHz, I'd expect a low 60's or high 50"s at normal room temp with your cooler.

http://prntscr.com/886ojz

That's at "idle" (listening to music on youtube, 40ish tabs opened on g chrome and like nothing intensive)

4.4ghz is the turbo

Umm @4.4Ghz that should be like 60C max at load not idle, I would try to reseat your waterblock and see if you get better temps on stock it shouldn't be that high.

With quite a few AIOs I tried. Idle temp is usually 5-6*C above ambient temp. So, if the room temp is 20*C(68*F), I'd expect 25-26*C when idling.

I mean like it would be fine if I'm not gonna be ocing for now and just leave the cooler be right? These temps won't really cut my cpu's life shorter would it?

For a short period, I think your CPU will be OK. But I were you, I would re-seat the CPU cooler as soon as possible.

While they are a bit high as long as they aren't constantly at 85C it will be fine and the CPU will thermal throttle before anything bad happens. As said it might just be a bad mount not making good contact or pressure onto the heatspeader, remounting it should help.

Yeah those aren't too bad, the previous ones when you were rendering are a lot hotter.

remounting still a good idea?

Yeah I would do it if you have some thermal paste handy since you seem to be getting high temps when rendering.

should I render?
