I have been experiencing an annoying problem with my graphics card. Basically, the graphics drivers crash constantly with an interval of about 4-6 minutes which totally drives me crazy because I have to wait a few seconds before it returns back to normal.

What happens?

1. The mouse locks up and screen freezes.

2. Screen turns black and stays like that for about 20-50 seconds (50 max.)

3. Screen returns back to normal and then a notification appears, saying "Driver has crashed and successfully recovered".

When does it happen:

1. Normal use, typing, web browsing. Much worse when playing games. Intervals shorten and freezes happen every 2-3 minutes.

The PC is currently running Windows 8. I transferred my hard drive from my main PC into this PC since my main PC had bloated its motherboard capacitors, caused by mild overclocking.

SPECS:

CPU - Intel Pentium Dual-Core E5200 - 2.5GHz

GPU - Palit GeForce GT 730 - 2GB DDR5

RAM - 4GB Kingston ValueRAM DDR2

Motherboard - ASRock G31M-S

Any tips or advices will be greatly appreciated. I am unsure what to do next.

There's your problem.

Wipe the HDD, install Windows 7 or at least 10.

You need to reinstall it seems. Has to be an issue with not recognizing the motherboard its on or something along those lines.
