What do you guys think of this price SGD$669(477 USD) for a 240mm rad, coolant, tubes, CPU block, dualbay res/pump combo, a 290x waterblock + backplate and 8 fittings?

I payed about 1200$ for my watercooling with 2gpus and the cpu.

So about 500$ i would consider pretty cheap. But i would add an extra rad one thin 240mm for CPU and GPU could be a bit small.

Sadly im doing it in a spec 03 xD

It only allows room for a 240mm rad

but i only have a r9 290x and a locked i7 4770!

Thats still 374W TDP. If you cant mount more rads only watercool the cpu and keep the GPU on air.

That would be more efficient and more silent.

I have two 360mm rads for 467W TDP and i still don't consider my setup perfect.

I have two of those btw: http://www.aquatuning.de/media/image/35355_1.jpg

But my 212x wouldnt allow for a 240mm rad placement anyways!

The load temp should be a whole load better than my current 290x load temp of 82c right :D

How would my load temps be like with an ambient of 30-32c then? :o

Assuming im Ocing the heck outta my 290x

You water temps would be way too high. You might have better temps on the GPU but the CPU would suffer from very high water temps.

Your water should be about 10°C higher then your air temp. And your chips should be around 10°C higher then your water temp.
If you achieve that, i would consider it a balanced water loop.

You should not exceed about 45-50°C ever. If you get that high water temps, you are better off with air cooling, since you wouldn't achieve anything anyway.

Well... My country has an ambient of 30c all year round... Would i be disappointed if i were to expect load temps of 45-50c?

Still then one 240mm rad woudn't be enough for your GPU and CPU.

So i probably shouldnt bother with creating a custom loop? D:

If you can only mount one 240mm rad in your case or don't want to mount rads externally, maybe not.

Aw... Thanks for your help then :)

My thought process was that because a single 120mm rad can cool a 295x2 so why couldnt a 240mm rad cool 1 290x and a 4770...

If you have AiO cooling solutions that might be true.
But if you are creating a custom loop, the GPU would only heat up your CPU if you don't have enough radiator area.

well I am planning a loop with 2 240mm rads for both CPU and GPU and it hasn't broken $650 AUD I think it comes down to exactly which parts you get.

D5 pumps are big, I'd probably get one if space wasn't going to be at a premium (little Parvum S2). but the phobya pumps are well regarded and can be plugged straight into this reservoir, and are much smaller.

Alphacool radiators are much more expensive than the ones from EK or XSPC

I suspect your kit is about $150 for the bayres+pump, $130 for the radiator, $70 for the CPU block, and the rest for fittings tubing and coolant.

here's my parts list (bent fittings are just a guess):https://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=wish_lists&wlcId=469302&action=wish_lists
