No, the bottom PCI-E 16x slot only runs at 4x. You might be able to run 3-way CrossFire with some tweaking, but not SLI.

for things like Folding, BOINC, Bitcoin Mining, Rendering, etc you will have no problem with a third card.

 

But for something like gaming PCI-E 2.0@4xxShadowxx simply dosnt have enough bandwidth for textures and stuff

But quad is two two gpu graphics cards. You mean 4way sli, which is 4x1

No. PCI-E 3.0 is way overkill for current GPU's. I think i read somewhere that we haven't even saturated PCI-E 2.0 yet, but i may be wrong.

Yes. PCIe 3.0 x8 is equal to PCIe x16 2.0. No bottleneck.
