Is the 950 worth it?

I would get a 280x. The 950 is a little worse than the 960. 280x is better than 960. 280x is like 170 for a powercolor one I think.

Seeing some reviews and it basically only looses 5 to 10 frame on 1080p max settings vs the 960 for a lot less cash so yeah: I'd actually recommend this card a lot more than a 960 since the 960 wont be doing higher res gaming anyway (that's 970 or 390 territory and twice the money) and with modest but still high settings can to 1080p 60 FPS no problem.

no. the 960 is better than the 950, 370 and 270x. Unless you want to go better again and go 380

Yeah, the only thing that really does do well at the price point is the 280x.

What drugs are you on?

The R9 370 is better than the 960 if we are using P/FPS

Get a R9 270, HD 7950, HD 7870, R9 280 or R9 370.

 

They are all roughly the same. R9 270 is slightly better than a 7870 though, but it's newer and more expensive. R9 280 is nice, maybe you could even get a R9 285. Good for 4K if you ever want to do that in the future.

You're better off getting a 270 or a used 280/7950 and if you're really into Nvidia you can burn the money you saved.

And in fps, 15-10fps is a LOT in the sub 60fps range of gaming.

its a good card as long as the price tag is around 160 falls behind sliiightly behind 960 and beats 270x/370 and an overclock and this card is heaven

Not in price per performance, which is what he was referring to by p/performance. If you're gonna get a 950 might as well get a 960 since they are so close in price. Literally no point in getting the 950 with how close it is in price to the 960.
