Can't revert to W7

79 Potatoes

I don't want to write too much so here it comes: When I press revert to W7 it says I can't because the files were deleted but they weren't, the folders and Windows.old still there.

Why would you want to downgrade to Windows 7 anyway?

I guess.

I've 1,2 TB of data.

Like... It's my biggest HDD, I've no place to copy them.

I don't think there is a solution way out of this problem man.

Windows is always like this.

It detects some simple and tiny errors that could end up fail in Upgrading/Downgrading the Windows.

Name the programs.

3ds max8 and photoshop 7.0c.

IK they're XP-ish, but those are licensed copies...

In the first I can't load plugins and the second doesn't even want to open, and yes, tried reinstalling.

Have you used Disk Cleanup, third party junk remover and it inadvertently deleted these folders, then you will not be able to rollback. Do check for yourself if these hidden folders exist on your C Drive.

Why? Because I use them and I don't have the money for new licenses?

Anyway still waiting an answer for the reverting thing, because I don't want to have an old-ass 80 GB HDD hanging in the front permanently just for W7 :/

VMs aren't a very practical solution also not only for PS7, I use 3dsmax8 more than that and its performance is decreased by a lot in VM (like... It can't even take a mere 1000 polygons)

(Why people are focusing that much on PS7 :/?, I want both programs)

i wasnt suggesting for 3ds max i thought ps7 since it was so old would have no performance penalty you could still access files at fine speeds via vm to real pc file sharing.
