I'm helping put together a list for my friend, his budget is 1500$, he'll be buying it sometime in october maybe november.  (i've managed to get the build to around 1100$)

 

Anyways, I've talked to him and he thinks mini-itx is really cool.  I was wondering what everyones opinions were on the z87- mini itx boards as of now.

Also the asus maximums vi impact looks beast, but nobody knows when its gonna be released/price will be.

 

 

I looked at the evga stinger z87, but wasn't very impressed with it for the price. 

 

 

He really likes black and red, so I was thinking of doing something like a DCU2 card with a black bitfenix prodigy and maybe some red vengeance ram with some red fans. 

 

Cpu will probably be a 4670k.

Defenetly wait for the Impact motherboard from Asus. Idk about the release date but probably be about 150$-200$

 

 

Does anyone know when its coming out? or even how much itll cost?

 

I think since I shaved some of the price off, he could get that board+ a 4770k instead

He's looking at the 770's right now, and really likes MSI's Gaming version, but he was concerned about the 2gb, he wants to be able to use it for 3 years or so before he has to upgrade anything.   

 

The 4gb version is 79.99$ extra though kind of a ripoff IMO.

Tell him to wait for 9XXX series, they will apparently be released around the end of Q3.

JJ said the Impact is going to be released this week or the next week.My guess is August 8th.

I like the color scheme of Noctua fans. Deal with it. Forget about the bad memories of the past.
