so i've built my new pc with a pretty decent spec and now i want to treasure it, do anything i can for it to stay strong as long as possible but
the thing is, at where i am, blackout or electricity going down happens a lot. sometime for a second, sometime half a second and sometime more than an hour.

i've read up somewhere that blackout is very bad for pc especially hardrives and no i don't want these blackout to damage my pc. that is why i'm looking for UPS.

i want UPS that can last 5 minute just enough for me to shutdown the computer and save my work if i ever do any important work. i usually just game but my highest concern is the well being of my pc and it's component.

so please recommend me a good ups that will let my pc stay on for a couples of minutes just enough for a graceful shutdown.

my psu is 650 watt and i believe my computer draw around 400 watt. it's gtx 970 and core i5 4690k

also please don't pick a crazy expensive one :<

What's your budget approx, and for that system you should be good with say a 450-500W unit if you want to plug in all your peripherals and extras.

This one form APC is a good unit for your build, it should last you a few mins at full load to save and shutdown:

Theses are the more basic units where are more affordable but still does a great job, if you wanted say the next tier up which are the Smart UPS with power consumption and battery displays and can safely shutdown your system when in backup battery mode:

Smart UPS (600w):

Here's the spec sheets below, at absolute full load most UPS units will only last a few minutes to stop working and save, but most times if your just browsing the web or watching a movie it will last you a little while since it's only using say 150-200W doing a mild amount of work.

i've settled for a buy here with a model APC  BX1100LI-MS please tell me what you think about it.

edit: i checked in the pc part picker that all my parts combined will be approximately 318 watt. part of me is saying that this 1100 is too overkill.

Yes that will work just note the plug type, voltage and Hz for your area in the world, and note 1100VA doesn't equate to watts it's only a 550W unit but capable of 1100VA.

i understand the basic 60% thing with va and watt. but the thing about plug type, how should i know about that?

can i get a lower VA UPS that will work perfectly for me? i mean if i could cut cost why not. i don't want to go overkill for something that i really don't utilize that much, i want the most effective one. maybe i should pick a 350 watt one? or?

VA is in direct relationship to Watts if you get a 360Watt unit your system might overload it and trip the overcurrent protection mkaing it shut down your system just with the computer alone not adding the peripherals such as monitors networking etc.

As for the plug type that unit uses a universal plug so it would work for all three of those plug types you have.
