Ok, so I recently got a new HDD. Decided to try to move my Videos, Images, Music folders etc. to it, but that didnt work out the way I intended it to, so i started the reinstall of windows 10. The "automatic" reset feature didnt work, and now i dont have any windows anymore, just a bios that i cant work it. Im running a Asus Z87 Plus motherboard, and I cant enter the "advanced settings" tab. The screen just turns 100% black when I try to boot to my USB where I put the windows 10 ISO file, and when I try to enter "advanced settings". I mean, I really cant do shit at this point. I also reset the settings on my motherboard using the jumper thing. Anyone know how to fix this?

put the hdd in another system and format it, see if it boots up the usb stick again after that (◑‿◐)

I have formatted this exact HDD on this PC before i tried to reinstall, I also have a already formatted SSD.

wow could actually be a hdd controller failure or somthing then (◑‿◐) hdd's are pretty sensitive ... some are dead out of the box, some can die after 10minutes... but most hdds are usually fine coz they go through a pretty extreme quality check... somtimes bad drives come through tho... id just try another hdd and see if it works then... if it does.. rma the new drive ( is what i would do to ensure my new hdd is fine )

Doesnt seem like the HDD is the problem tbh, I mean I cant even enter "advanced mode" in the bios, but I can see the drive and the other drives on the start page of the Asus bios.

I recommend unplugging everything except the drive you want to boot from. Limit the amount of variables.

Then, install windows 10 on a spare drive and/or USB. Can you then launch windows 10 from USB, if so, your hardware is fine. Likely a software issue with your original Windows install.

I fixed the black screen problem. Managed to finally update my BIOS using the flashback feature on my motherboard, after I found out I had to rename the bios file to something specific etc.Currently trying to make a bootable Win10 USB stick from my Mac using boot camp assistant. Hoping to get a functional computer by tomorrow.

Do you know how to install Windows 10 on my SSD? Im trying to do it using an ISO file on a USB stick I have, doing what youre saying about making a bootable drive. But how do I then install Windows 10 to the new drive instead of the USB stick?

Can I make a bootable USB drive using the boot camp assistant on Mac, then install it on my regular PC?

Just have the drivers to your SSD on your ISO, that way you can load drivers and have the installation process detect your SSD drives.
