Looking for good laptop for school/programming

What's the best sites to get laptops and I'm looking for core i5 maybe i7 but it's for school so and I'm not wanting to spend a shit ton so if it's 400$ Usd would be suitable price so I doubt there are any core i7 that cheap. Thanks and link the sites/ product below please

Do you have any need for the horsepower of a i5.... most programming I do is not very intensive. I would look into a chrome book at your price range. Something like this: http://www.dell.com/ca/business/p/chromebook-11/pd

edit: for laptops I don't buy anything but Dell and can say they have really good customer support/service. my Hdd died in my laptop and the process of replacing (under their warrenty, so it was free) was pretty much as painless as it gets for something like that.

quite a good package, i was able to get a laptop with this config with fhd and 1tb hdd for 500€. The i5 5200 is good and should suit your needs

NOOO nonononono!!!! You cant do programming on a Chromebook at all. You cant download the VMs or even the pkgs at all on them. For programming it kinda needs to be a windows or possibly linux. And you kinda do want an i3 or i5 for programming, they might not be totally taxing but its nice to have the buffer room. But the thing that will be most beneficial to it is investing in a laptop with an SSD. Faster load times for your programs and the alike. Also most programs utilize a lot of RAM so i would suggest at least 6 to 8GB of it.

Windows, no chrome os

a SSD

and 6+GB of ram

Oh and while im thinking of it, do your self a favor: get a light notebook/ultrabook style of computer. I wouldn't suggest carrying around even a 15in 5-6lbs to and from class. It may not seem like much but its a pain in the but.
