CPU heatsink fit?

    I have a question if the hyper 212 evo would fit in my build. My guess is that it would be tight. i looked on pcpartpicker, and it didn't say one way or the other. thanks in advanced i will pick a best answer.

Wind 8.1 64bit

MSI A78M-E35

AMD athlon x4 760k

R7 260x 2GB OC

Crusial Ballistic Sport 1x8 ddr3 1600

West Digital Blue 1tb 7200rpm

It would fit the mobo but what's your case?

It'll fit with those parts but the case matters a lot too.

@MyCampGround it should be good with your athlon. I actually used one like you but the 750k, overclocked it to 4,5 gHz on a good air cooler, worked like a charm, even ran The Witcher 3 relatively smooth

@MyCampGround you need to check the size of an hyper 212 evo and then measure if it will fit your case manually.

Max heat sink height is 160mm (like my Thermaltake V3) and the 212 is 159mm. Mine just fits.

 

Make sure you have access to behind the mobo, you need to install a backplate. If not, you need to remove the entire mobo from the case.

No, but my case has the same restrictions as far as what size heatsinks will fit.
