A Proper Computer Chair

Dear Linus Forum,

 

I have been doing a lot of online research into chair ergonomics and mesh vs cushion. I have concluded that the best absolute chair for what I am looking for is the Herman Miller Aeron.

 

Unfortunately, these chairs carry an absolutely unreasonable price range. I am talking $900 for a basic model.

 

My question is, if I can find this chair used for say $350, would it be a worthwhile investment. Anyone own one of these chairs and can vouch for it?

I think "Ergonomic" shit is just marketing, i always find that stuff less comfortable than my 10 year old lether office chair which is amazing.

Your best shot is to head down to your local office store (Office Depot, Staples, etc.) and try out the chairs there.  Then you can pick one that feels the most comfortable to you since nobody is built the same.

Oh man, I would sweat like crazy sitting in that, but I do not doubt it's comfort.

The benefits of a powerful ceiling fan above me stops me from sweating.

I have had this $100 staples chair for 3 years and it works fine.

Ended up finding one on CraigsList for $75 in excellent condition, just some cuts and scrapes. I think I made off like a bandit on this one.
