Corsair Veneance 1600Mhz 1.5v vs 1.35

So I was looking at RAM for either the MSI Z77A-GD55 or the ASRock Z77 Extreme 4. Now the Black/Reb/Blue heatsink models are all 1.5v but the Gold heatsink models are all 1.35v? Why would this be and can I bump up the voltages to 1.5?

they probably worked them to run at 1.35 v and yeah you can bump them up to 1.5 if you want. most ram are rated for 1.5v thats why tha other are 1.5 and i take these gold ones are alot more expensive yeah?

Yeah like extra $10 but if it matches my system then I don't really care about the extra $10. :)

From my understanding. The lower voltage ram is a higher quality chip. It similar to how the first batch of 2011 chips were all xeon chips with 8 cores and the i7-3960x all had 8 cores but 2 of the cores were disabled because of defects. If I'm wrong someone tell me lol.
