The time has come 1080p 60fps

Hi everyone, tomorrow I'm going to buy a new ~1000€ rig.

I was gathering knowledge for about 2 months now, what should I pick for my setup and this is what I assembled:

CPU: Intel i5 4460 3.2GHz

CPU COOLER: For now Stock cooler (Later on Noctua C12P - SE14)

MOTHERBOARD: Gigabyte B85M-D3H

RAM: Corsair 8GB (2x4) 1600MzH

GRAPHIC CARD: EVGA GTX 970 FTW+ ACX 2.0+ or GIGABYTE R9 390

HD: If i go with EVGA i'm out of budget so I'll use my old 500GB HD / If i buy R9 390 i have money for 1T HD and maybe SSD only for OS

CASE: NZXT S340 Black

NETWORK: TP-LINK Wireless PCI-e card (I cant route a cable in to my room)

MONITOR: I have SAMSUNG 24' 1080p T24D390EW

_________________________________

I wont go for the SSD because I think it's not worth it.

Let me know what you think, which card should I go with? Considering R9 390 is 80€ cheaper?

And I'm open to suggestions for different build, just link your pc-partpicker in.

Cheers, SJX

OP stated Euros so I doubt there's any BestBuys, as far as l know all the BestBuys in Europe have closed.

you can easily fit 128gb ssd to put skyrim on or something.

just buy cheaper case.

BUT THE CASE IS TOO NICE! D: I had to learn that the hard way, went with a budget build with the Corsair Carbide SPEC01, gutted it out and threw a 4690k and SLI 970s in it, couldn't justify how flimsy the case was, went with the H440. You're gonna have to look at it everyday :D

The preformance diference between the 390 and the 970 is not very large at all, so if the price gap is large, then go for the 390, and get youself an ssd, as that will benifit you far more than the lower power consumption of the 970.

Maybe see if you can pick something up from local classifieds for a used 970, does it specifically have to be EVGA branded?

No it does not need to be and EVGA, I just really like the ''stealthy'' look..

And I want everything new, I don't trust used stuff acutually..

Get an ssd man.... 7sec boot time .... "feels so good" and it will give you the biggest boost in PC performance over anything else.

Hey SpaceJunglerX,

I would reconsider the SSD for that build as it would bring a lot of value to the system, decrease all loading and boot times and make the whole system much more responsive.
I doubt you would need a aftermarket CPU cooler, unless you are looking for a more quiet performance from it.
Since you are reusing an old storage drive I would strongly recommend running a diagnostic too, provided by the manufacturer to ensure the drive is in good shape and it's safe to store your data. For WD drives that would be WD Data Lifeguard Diagnostic tool: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=IIMBwO
Other than that the build looks great for a gaming system. :)
