Whatever happened to the GTS cards of old?

Last GTS card i know of is the GTS 450 from Fermi...

GTS was introduced with the 8800 series G80 (please correct me if wrong) and were a mark of performance/price (8800 GTS 320MB) and GTX were the beast selection of cards...(8800GTX and ULTRA)

Nowadays it's GTX 750Ti all the way up to GTX 780Ti (as an example)..

What the freckles happened?

They just stopped branding cards as GTS. Now it's just GT (crap) and GTX (good).

Makes me kinda mad at Nvidia.. i had the 320MB 8800 GTS... it was the sweet spot for people with a budget.

Now it's guess the GPU... sure we can look at benchies.. but back then GTS meant card for the per/money, unlike now where a fucking 750 is in the same class as a damn 780Ti going by Nvidia's GT/GTS/GTX placement scheme.
