Not sure if I should put this in water cooling but it made more sense to me than in CPUs.  So I have an issue to fix and I need some help deciding what to do.  My cpu cooler pump died recently and I need to replace it.  Here are my options so what do you guys recommend?

#1  Custom loop. Around $400. I was planning to do one eventually and was thinking I could prevent myself from replacing things multiple times by just buying this now.  I would probably get a 120, 240, and 360 rad, but I would only be cooling cpu for now since my budget wouldn't allow for gpu blocks right now.  This would probably be the most expensive option and would leave me out of commision for the longest time.  I would also be stuck with my 1100t until later in the year when I could either switch to intel or get an 8350.

#2  8350 and ~$80 cooler.  I could get an 8350 and either a noctua nh-d14 or a refurbished h100.  This would be the cheapest upgrade but would make me buy something I intend to replace soon.

#3  Switch to intel.  This would be close to the price of the custom loop, probably more.  It would also probably force me into using a stock cooler for a short time.  This would net me around $450 dollars and I would end up stuck with a stock intel cooler for a short time.

#4  put a stock cooler on my 1100t.  Really don't want to do this as I like to upgrade and I have an excuse to do it now.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

I would go with #3 since you could get a better cooler later on and overclock your cpu.

#3 was not counting selling cpu and board.  Also if I do go with #3 should I go z77 or z87?  Probably gonna have a friend pick up a 3770k or 4770k up for me at microcenter and then i'll need a board.

If you are only gaming on it, then a 4670K and a Asus Z87-A/ Gigabyte GA-Z87X-UD3H / MSI Z87 GD65 Gaming would be enough. If you do video rendering, I would go with a 4770K. If you want to save some money, go with a 3570K and a P8Z77-V LK board since the performance difference is around 10% which isn't very much imo.

My only issue here is having to change boards without gaining much performance.  I could get an 8350 and be pretty close to a 4670k in performance.  I would rather have a 4770k but I also don't want to pay the premium.  That got me considering a 3770k.

What board do you currently have? If you have a decent board I would just go with an 8350 since it will be cheaper and you will be able to overclock it.

I would get a new motherboard then since if you are going to overclock you would need more phases in order to make the overclock more stable and having more phases will give less stress to them since they will work together to give power to the cpu.

i'd look for a board with more amps in the power phase.. i fell into the "more" is better

and found my butt hurt really bad. the chokes are rated amps, and having more amps

in the phase is the key. you can have 24-phase, but only have 120 total amps (5A each)

but where a board might have 12-phase, but have 240A with 20A rated chokes. some

mannies advertise the amp rating and some do not...

as for the OP question, currently a CPU pump is down, so you are already water cooled

with what, exactly?

I would switch to Intel. I currently run on AMD with a FX 8150 and to be honest I wish I had gone Intel. Better performance, less heat and power consumption, and most importantly a bigger selection of quality motherboards.

Also, the stock Intel cooler really is not all that loud (in my opinion your mileage may vary) and cools well enough at stock clock speeds.

where'd you find that lil deal?

The UD4H is on sale for $115 at microcenter and the 4670K is $200. So I think the deal is from microcenter.
