Hey everyone..

I'm soon thinking of buying a new GPU. I was having a look at the 980TI, its performance for the price is great from what ive read. But i keep on hearing about NVIDIA's 1000 series graphics cards..

Does anyone have any idea when this will be happening? Release Dates? Specs? I can't seem to find much more about it!

Just hold off. The 690 is great still. I would wait and see when price drops slightly.  Go used? Also do you need a new gou? I am running 660 sli just fine

I dont think it will happen any time soon.

Take for example the GTX 780 Ti, it was released on 7 November 2013.

The GTX 980 Ti was released on 2nd June 2015. Thats a period of about 1.5 years.

My guess is that the 10xx series will probably release somewhere next year, either Q3 and/or Q4.

The 980Ti currently is still the best gaming card on the market now. Unless you want to wait 1 year more, you should just go for the 980Ti. It is still going to be good when the 1000 series come out (Such as the 780Ti can still compare with the 980).

Also it is not the 100 series. :P http://www.geforce.com/hardware/desktop-gpus/geforce-gts-150 You wouldnt call the 980 Ti a 90 series wont you.

If you're going to wait for another year, sure get the 1000 series (or whatever ridiculous naming scheme they're going to stick on their products)

The thing with enthusiasts is that they have the "must have the latest and greatest hardware" mentality so they always end up waiting.

The R9 300/GTX900 series are relatively new.

Just get what you need if you need an upgrade, it's as simple as that.

just buy a 980ti.why wait for the 100 series. 6 months after that's released there will be another ti version and a few months later the 200 series cards will be out.

youll always be waiting as there's always new coming.

I do agree that the 690 is great, but some of my favorite games wont support a dual GPU, and the 980Ti is looking like the way to go, I'm looking to be running a 4K system and the 690 can handle it, but with medium graphics settings (i think)..
